Raaz Pichle Janam Ka Shekhar Suman might have the whole world in splits with his comic and funny one-liners, but he was in for an emotionally draining session when he participated in the TV reality show Raaz Pichhle Janam Ka. The mention of his dead son while shooting for a reality show made him lose his composure and he started crying in full public view.

Raaz Pichhle Janam Ka is exploring the uncharted territory of past life and reveals the unsaid and untold past life story of many big celebrities, politicians and sports icons. Hosted by Ravi Kishan, the show is raking in a lot of interest and has made many, a believer in the karmas of past life. As a matter of fact even the enigmatic Ravi Kishan is now keen to know the past of two of the most powerful icons of India.

According to Ravi Kishan, “I would like to know the past life of Sonia Gandhi and Amitabh Bachchan. Sonia Gandhi not only took care of her family, but today she is also a powerful face of our country. All her sacrifices only tell us that there has to be some strong bonding that she has with Indian soil.”

Raaz Pichhle Janam Ka uses past life regression therapy to explore the previous births of ordinary people as well as celebrities who participate.

The episodes aired so far saw clinical psychologist Dr Trupti Jayin conducting the therapy on actor Shekhar Suman, besides two regular participants – Bhopal- based Swati Singh and Mumbai- based Shivesh, who works as an executive in an MNC. Dr Jayin made each participant ‘ visit’ their previous births.

Past life regression therapy does not have a scientific approval and the show has therefore invited criticism for promoting superstition.

According to the format of the show, whatever problem a participant may have – physical or psychological – actually has a link to his or her past life.

Many things in our lives remain unexplained. We don’t know why we react in a certain way to certain situations or people or why we end up doing things which sometimes have no reason at all.
